The Dogs

MEET THE MUTTS!

Moody is a 13-year-old “Yaussie”: a Yorkshire Terrier/Mini Aussie mix!
Her name comes from her heterochromatic eyes: she has one blue and one brown. Because of this, she is named after the fictional character “‘Mad-Eye’ Moody” in the Harry Potter series.
She is the alpha, the oldest, full of spunk and sass, and queen of the neighborhood. She is a deadly hunter and has successfully hunted and killed rats, lizards and and opossum. Moody is known to “tree” raccoons and has given chase to many coyotes. Moody loves food and playing with her little brothers, Gizmo and Ax. But most of all- she loves her mom! Moody has been my side since I was 21 and we grew up together. She truly is my best friend and partner-in-crime.

Caraxes (“Ax” for short) is a 3-month-old Merle Yorkie Puppy, this means he is a Yorkshire Terrier mixed with other breeds to create his “Blue Merle” coloring.
His name was actually given to him at birth (the entire littler was named for the dragons in the Game of Thrones prequel series, “House of the Dragon”- an obsession of mine!) and it fits! Caraxes is named after the fearsome dragon of Daemon Targaryen in the series. Caraxes, or “Ax” as we call him, certainly lives up to his name and is the “littlest dragon”.
We are excited to test his genetics and discover what other breeds may be lurking in his DNA. For now, all I know is that Ax is 100% terrier, and I look forward to involving him in activities like hiking and agility. He is extremely smart and active, sometimes so much that I sometimes calls him a “Yorkshire Terror”! Follow along on our puppy training journey!

Gizmo Beelzebubba was a rescued, special-needs Teacup Biewer Terrier. Weighing only 1.8 lbs at the time of adoption and never surpassing 3.6 lbs in weight, Gizmo was truly a little fairy prince. Gentle, quirky, and loyal to the end, Gizmo was an oddball, a delight, and loved by all.
He was named by my students when I taught preschool back in 2018. His second name comes from an album title from one of my favorite bands, “Drive-By Truckers”.
Gizmo crossed over the rainbow bridge in June of 2022.
